i wish i had known this when i was being shoved in the back of the police car.

the reality is that people are not the same, there are some people who lead, some who follow, some who think, some who labor, some who do varying degrees of all of those or none at all, &c.. and that no matter how society is organized - whether it be organized externally via a state apparatus or, ideally, self-organizing - there will be authority and, therefore, coercion.

what i just don't get is why can't you just talk about individuals, their sovereignty, and the idea of natural law? instead of trees with special powers? how am i the insane one here?
