Swine Flu Update

The firm is continuing to actively monitor information regarding the swine flu outbreak that is being provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC).


The number of cases has grown to nearly 9,000 as the H1N1 influenza virus has spread very quickly across the globe to 40 countries. Fortunately, the severity of the flu has proven to be less than initially feared and while the threat of more severe future outbreaks demands that we remain on alert, we have determined that the travel restrictions previously instituted can be rescinded. Effective immediately, travel to Mexico will no longer require a mandatory quarantine period.

The CDC reminds us that this continues to be an ongoing public health threat and continued vigilance and action is needed. Therefore, all personnel are asked to continue to demonstrate cautionary health and hygiene practices. Namely, if you become ill with a fever or other flu-like symptoms, you should stay at home and remain there for the later of 7 days from onset of illness or 24 hours after symptoms end. Seek immediate medical care if symptoms are severe or your condition does not improve.
