I should point out that if you think the govt is going to try to do what I'm suggesting on their own you should consider the downsides of inbreeding.

having been stationed on a nuclear submarine, and an electrical engineer in the navy, I had to learn about the reactor that allowed us propusion, how it worked, and the ins and outs of it all... and also had to swear to secrecy about it, and if anything I've learned that there is no fucking way civilians will ever get ahold of that type of technology if the government has a say so in it

uranium fuel cells wouldnt require the enrichment needed to level a city, but there'd still be the potential for electronic sabotage from the inside, so they'd be very closely monitored, or perhaps 100% incapable of entry to the tower or pods, and signal the main database in the event of someone removing the cells.

do you realize how dangerous uranium is? on top of that, governments keep nuclear information top secret, and whether or not you can google it, its not going to be declassified and mass produced in any type of civilian vehicle in the next 100 years, so it doesn't fucking matter

and it takes a lot more then uranium to make a nuclear reactor capable of propulsion, and the shielding that is necessary to minimize the radiation is so extreme that there is no way it could fit into a civilian vehicle, its not happening sorry
