dude half a bar of xanax is not much. i know people who take 10-20 at a time. neither is "a few beers", but you'll have to grow some balls before you understand that one.
i know xanax addicts, i know oc addicts, heroin addicts, alcoholics, and cigarette smokers. i also know compulsive gamblers, nymphomaniacs, and klepto's. addiction is a complicated thing, and half of it's in the mind. i can take half a xanax and a few beers because, well, i'm not stupid. and not being stupid about drugs is the key to enjoying them safely - just like everything else in this world.
hahah, my balls are fully grown jerome thanks. pm me for proof , no homo.

tl;dr
i can understand being addicted to a lot of things, but not benzos, aside from those that were on them for years for chronic anxiety (because they had a shitty doctor) and then have to wheen themselves off painfully.

I've seen lots of patients who were addicted to benzos. I don't see why it's different from anything else you can get addicted to.
I don't know, here's my take from when I was strung out for about 6 years:
Heroin - Euphoria
meth - euphoria
wet - euphoria
K - Euphoria
Coke - Euphoria
Crack - Euphoria
Alcohol - Euphoria
X - duh
ghb - euphoria
lsd - euphoria
lsa - euphoria
RCs (2ci, 2cb, 2ct, etc) - euphoria
Mush - euphoria
MJ - euphoria
hydrocodone/oxycodone - euphoria
mesc - euphoria
tobacco - euphoria
poppers - euphoria
dmt - euphoria
nitrous - euphoria
ibo - euphoria
brewed poppy tea - euphoria Benzos - zombie addiction/sleep/having a bad doctor that prescribes you a daily regiment of a benzo, specifically 4 hour lasting xanax. lack of euphoria.
a lot of those i mentioned are not physically addictive, i'm just pointing out that people do them and may continue to do them repeatedly. benzos, i have no idea. i just can't see someone going to a dealer and asking for a bottle of clonazepam shaking violently from withdrawl to get... high? no, to go to fucking sleep.
i do alot of shit. or what i think of as a lot of shit. but I was on Zoloft for a year for what the dumb ass doctor thought was "general anxiety disorder". it did NOTHING but make me a sniveling brat that hated life and everyone around hi,. I did things just to defy people, including failing tests on purpose to piss off my family, which actually fucked me hard when it came around to college app time.
tl;dr? don't fuck with shit like that.

it's been years since i've been meds, but i work with a lot of people that take anti-depressants for sure. wellbutrin has had the most positive results, but obviously your psychiatrist knows best. it seems like you've found your niche, and i hope that's all it came down to, but if not, find a good doctor mate. sometimes even the strongest need one.
i got taken off of it by the same doctor when she tested me for ADD and I started taking concerta. that's helped me immensly, but the anxiety problems I had (reason I started zoloft) are still there. i don't get it.
