The fact is, they always gave in to male sexual hedonism and chauvinism because it was more logical and survival-oriented than resisting forever. If they hadn't given in, we'd have found date rape plants as excellent crop plot fillers. We'd probably be housing a billion people in space by now if they'd been stubborn and forced us to force them. It's their inevitable way of giving in, but when we force it I imagine we'd get all of it sooner.

Base civilian incentives to colonize suborbital space on voting results, on statistics, and you'll develop so much protest and demand for women equality that we'll get the funding. Or force women to stay on land to take care of babies and sanitation for a century while we rape technology in the ass. Either way their inferior logic get subverted for a more functional psychological and technological patriarchy.
