It would stop mentally insane people from shooting up their universities because they got rejected by a girl they asked out. Or w/e it was a couple years ago. Or at least make it harder to do so.

You forget most people on these forums hate guns rofl.

I think most people hate guns and/or the NRA because they don't understand the importance of gun ownership. I was at the shooting range with my S&W 686 yesterday and it was a blast. Not to mention that I'm going to defend myself against hipsters with extreme prejudice.

I don't know about that. Looking at a vast area of the rural US, I can see why it is important in noting that many people hunt to feed their families. There is an overpopulation of Deer in my area and they allow for a thinning of the population as the deer have no natural preditors anymore.

There is an importance to gun ownership, but I doubt that there really is a need in the Netherlands for hunting rifles in the mass abundance of forest land.

I would agree with you if you had noted a .50 caliber sniper rifle or an Uzi and so on, but not guns in general. There is a cross section of this country that survives off of the land and not a local supermarket.

It's one thing to say that the disadvantages of gun ownership outweigh the advantages. It's a feat of ignorance to say that there is no importance in gun ownership outside of hunting.
