I'm not sure everyone truly understands...
precisely WHY IlyaZ' ban was so unjust, so let's get some things clarified:
1) The thread in question, in the abandoned subforum in question, proceeded AS NORMAL for a period of no less than 2+ MONTHS. This only reinforces the need for the forum to be presided over by MEMBERS OF THE FORUM COMMUNITY.
2) IlyaZ was by no means the sole poster in said thread, but was struck down suddenly, to be made example of by the Schutzstaffel Kommandant Mav and his cohorts. When can everyone else who even knew about the forum expect their sudden black-bag-over-the-head-in-the-dead-of-night ban? Why stop at just the thread starter? Anyone who didn't immediately complain is guilty! Patriot Act their ass! Again: why are these forums not run by the community that inhabits them?
3) It's a Goddamn spaceships forum. On the Internet. THE INTERNET(whose primary purpose is the transfer and display of things relating to naked people).
4) This is probably far and away the single most important point to be made in this thread: IlyaZ, as a distinguished champion of RESPECTING women, was merely showing his profound adoration of our noble female counterparts, whom I need not remind you outnumber us on this planet. As well as inviting others to express their RESPECT of women, too. Everything posted there was in good taste and in no way meant to demean women or offend the sensibilities of average, easygoing forum-dwellers.
5) Anyone who managed to find those forums and threads by and large enjoyed them and had no problems whatsoever. People should not be punished arbitrarily because 1 or 2 individuals get upset over something/someone they dislike or want to interfere with/ruin in line with their own agenda.
6) The justification for the porn rule, which pretty much all sensible forumgoers interpret more as a suggestion rather than something set in stone, is "OMG, KIDS PLAY THIS GAME AND WE WANT TO ATTRACT MORE OF THEM!". Let me ask you a question elegant in it's simplicity: when you were a kid with Internet access for the first time, and you discovered that the wonderful naked female form was readily available online...did you feel it was something you needed to be shielded from(Xog excluded)? Hasn't this tired argument been played out in the Media like 271,350 times? If parents have a problem with their kids seeing something, then they should BE FUCKING RESPONSIBLE PARENTS.
7) We continue to see a marked decline in veteran forum users, to say nothing of experienced and interesting subspace players. Yet, while pushing away people of substance that still try to make this place the least bit interesting, shitbags seem to be embraced and allowed to continue fouling the whole place up. Wtf? Ask yourself why someone like Jason, who has been here since basically the birth of TW Forums and has to my knowledge never been banned would feel so disillusioned with the state of things that he would go to the lengths he did to express that frustration, against all his better judgment?

You know, why not just compromise and nip this whole thing in the bud by giving IlyaZ his own little subforum that he can moderate and restrict access to it? That way, those who want a place to hang out and be elitist without fear of shitheads interfering can have such a place and drama like this can be avoided.
It seems like a pretty fair concept, even with the prospect that every idiot under the sun would scream "UNFAIR!" and demand their own such areas. So what?
Or, Anarchy can continue. That is acceptable, too.
