The main thing i hate is all the Zealotry that people have got over Global warming. Its like a fucking religion. The science has been replaced with people just making up shit to get more funding. Its mostly complete BS. Most well informed scientists say that we just don't know, we don't have enough information.

The funny thing is everyone thinks CO2 will warm the earth.

Higher levels of CO2 have been shown to COOL the earth in some points of history. We should be more worried about starting another ice age, than the earth getting hotter. This is something to worry about FAR FAR MORE because warming will enable us to grow more food. Coldness will lead to famine, plants dont like permafrost..

Insidentally the dinosaurs lived in a much much HOTTER earth than it is now. Its not going to suddenly die if it gets hotter. It was hotter in England 2000 years ago, they used to grow grapes.

If the Earth was really getting hotter, the sea levels would have noticeably risen by now. So far NOTHING has happened that the "global warming" people have said will happen.

Its all one massive scare story. EVEN if the earth is warming its TOO LATE TO DO ANYTHING NOW. We would be better trying to adapt to our new climate, attempting to reverse the changes is futile.

There is irrefutably some credible evidence which points to global warming - what hasn't been established yet is the causality of this warming. I can't help thinking, however, that the issue has become over-politicised and sensationalised by green lobbyists, scientists and politicians. There is now a contingent of scientists and bureaucrats at a regional and national level who have jobs dedicated to finding evidence and suggesting solutions to these problems which has caused clear biases and unscientific work... Science shouldn't have an agenda.

You also see the implementation of misappropriated and draconian regulations just to appease misdirected demand for action. When in fact many of the worst polluting industries, e.g. freight shipping, go unregulated because politicians realise the economic impact of taxation would be unfavourable. In the UK there has been a rise in flat-rate hidden taxes attached mainly to certain commercial travel of which the costs are passed onto the consumer. This doesn't change business practice and the extra revenue is not invested proportionately into environmental remedies. This is happening in the context of an opaque and failed political hoax of international target setting which most countries inevitably renege on. These bureaucrats justify their careers by enforcing ridiculous targets which have no impact on the aggregated environment externalities and only act to damage the global economy.

My final beef is that we couldn't affect this trend in a meaningful way even if we did implement all the regulations suggested by the lobbyists, and kept to the impractical targets set by multilateral organisations. In my opinion we couldn't stop the juggernaut of industrial growth (if it even is this which is causing the planet to warm) having an adverse environmental impact without completely killing our economies- even if we wanted to. To get the tiger economies on board? Fat chance. We might as 'wait and see' what happens and not disadvantage the very same businesses that innovate to cater for these externalities. In other words, we need our commercial/entrepeneurial sector to be in the best condition to pump money into new alternative products. If you too heavily burden Western economies in an effort to reduce emissions you lose the driving force that is most likely to find a solution to many of the global warming issues. Prevention is a romantic and unrealistic strategy.

In short - the causality is not fully understood; the issue has been exploited by the inept for political ends; and it's not preventable anyway. We should look for antedotes which deal with the effects of global warming instead of clinging onto this helpless idea that we can control the destiny of our climate.

Final thought: who gives a shit anyway? Oxygen was the original pollutant. We think of the Earth as a paradise for life, but it's a knife edge existence for every species. We personify the Earth as having negative feelings towards certain gases and chemicals and human behaviours - but it doesn't care. There will always be something that will replace the previously successful species, and this is reassuring, whether it be a Panda or a bacteria feasting on plastic and CO2.
