I really wish Wacom would lower the price on their Cintiq.

I can see this taking off for the elderly that need a larger sized component to better understand the item. Just look at how the elderly ar taking off using wii.
I just do not see the use for it on my end, as for what I use a computer for. If anything, I will stick with my netbook when I need a smaller and more portable computer.May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

Ipod represented a true paradigm shift since they lead the way in changing how many of us interfaced with our music and videos
IPhone was a small part of the entire cell phone technologies paradigm shift that changed the way we interfaced with our communication devices.
Ipad is in no way any kind of paradigm shift. No camera? No phone? No handwriting recognition? No speech to text? What is the point? It appears to me that this could be a potential platform to build on and the hype isn’t helping that.

Just seems like the iPad offers too little at this point for the price tag they want and the lack of use this can offer.May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

I'm thinking there were other reasons (legal?) that Apple didn't include the technologies that I mentioned to make it a truly ground-breaking product. For Apple, cost has rarely been a factor. Bought a 60GB IPod as soon as they came out even though I could have bought a small laptop for the same price. Why? Because even though I had years of experience with MP3s, mixing/burning CDs, a huge collection of classic vinyl and great equipment to play it all on, the IPod made me rethink how music intersected with my lifestyle. $300 later I had all my music/videos on a single simple device that fit in my pocket. If the IPad did the same, hooking me up with all my communication and information needs via a simple device, I would pay whatever they were asking and dump my cell phone, digital camera, IPod, tablet PC, and maybe even my desktop PC. As the IPad stands now, it wouldn’t replace much. Iwould just add it to my other stuff.

I just do not like the compression and loss of sound that comes from MP3's. Probably why I went with an Archos portable music player years ago when Ipods came out. I had a 8 GB HD on that unit and it was less $$ than the Ipod I think almost 8 years ago? and it also had a camera on it and would take video as well as play it. 8GB lol....and that was enormous back then.

I was just having spurring on conversation today with Ephemeral in good fun.
I am now up to two 1TB and two 2TB outboard drives on my home system with just music...in both cases, one is just a mirror of the other HD. I am a musiholicMay your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

The biggest thing apple has going for it is that they have copyright on that technology to zoom in and out using your fingers (at least, I think they have that?), which for a device like this is an awesome feature, but I do agree that they need to upgrade this to multitask and compatible with word/etc. If they do that, it could be a great device for students as well, taking notes like Eph mentioned.Maybe God was the first suicide bomber and the Big Bang was his moment of Glory.
