The Detroit Auto Show thread was being derailed enough already, and these fourms suck now with very little actual discussion ever actually taking place.
So Toyota just had they're 2nd safety recall on a fairly new model car (Or trucks in this case) in as many months. My local toyota dealership is already taking 4k off the sticker price of every new model on the lot, not including the Yaris which is only 10k to start with anyways. Toyota's reputation of reliability took a huge hit with the 1st recall, and perhaps irreversible after the 2nd, and their sales figures are almost certainly going to reflect that. How long do you suppose they will wait before they start practically giving away their cars? I'm hoping they do by the Spring. Even though I don't even need a new car, I would certainly jump at this opportunity, because I think most of us will be seeing some serious steals in an effort to keep their sales figures in par with their competition. 2010 Toyota Avalon for $15k? 2010 Toyota Tundra for $16k? Believe it; It's coming....soon.
