This is the same concept as Columbus Day, man. Why do we celebrate it like it's such a glorious event? It's nothing to celebrate. That is a huge slap in the face of anyone native to the "America's." It is a day to recognize the raping, murder, looting, and extermination of entire communities and cultures, if anything at all.

I agree 100% with you on this holiday and hate that there is celebrations for it. Totally bogus, especially since I always wondered...how did Columbus discover the America's when they had been settled and populated by the native Americans centuries before Columbus was even a sperm cell in his father testicles. His major contribution to North America BTW was Syphilis and other fun diseases that wiped out more Native American populations/tribes than some estimate may have died in the Holocaust of WWII.

It's just a bad excuse for retailers to hold White Sales and ridiculous parades that take place. Kids in Catholic schools when I was growing up....long ago, use to have this day off as a holiday. Go figure.

So how many "Mexicans" are native to that land? 0, but I'm sure there are Native Americans that are native to that land that consider themselves to be Mexican culturally. Though it's most likely a very very very small percentage.

Since you brought up Columbus Day, which isn't really celebrated anymore, I'll add this point. How many of the natives that got buttraped by the Spanish and later Mexican empires feel offended by Mexico celebrating some historic victory or their independence.
