my friend just went to jail last night on his way down to bonnarroo. didn't merge with the passing lane when a cop had someone pulled over on the side of the road

that fucking sucks. i still dont know all the details, but i do know the shit they found was under the hood. how does a routine traffic stop turn into a fully fledged fucking search >:O

and they had non dog smellables, so im freaking clueless !!!

update: just spoke with him. his friends bailed him and his gf out. ($40,000)

that reminds me. in A'dam, Might aka Jonas got so stoned that he accidentally stole some woman's purse in his hotel, so the cops lifted him from his bed and took him to jail, in the morning when they let him go again, the cops were polite enough to give the man back his weed.

that's what i've been hearing. it just gets worse and worse.

We left Little Rock at like 11 and started driving towards roo. We picked up sillystrings outside memphis and continued on our way. Around 930 or so we were about 30 minutes away from the walmart @ roo. It had been raining, I had been driving the whole time, I was tired. There was a cop truck chillin in the medium with a spotlight shining across the highway (so they could see into the cars as they drove by, seeing who had camping stuff). As soon as we passed he pulled out and started tailing us. I was occupied on him following us, and didn't realize someone had been pulled over. I passed them, and the cop pulled up fast on us. Hit the lights, and snuck in between my car and dagos buddies car.

We pull over, and he explained what I did wrong. I apologized and everything seemed all good. He was only giving me a warning. Asked me to step out of the car to talk to me, I was very polite, wasn't nervous, everything was handled very well. The cop was very polite too. Started asking me questions, weapons, fireworks, drugs, etc. I denied it all. He then asked "well then can I search your car?" I replied "with all due respect sir, as you can see our car is packed real tight and it took us quite a long time of playing tetris to get it all in." To which he replied "alright then, I'm going to call my buddy to bring a k9 over"

I dont want to get into too much detail here just in case, but long story short, they called a k9, which pointed a scent of MJ (didnt have any in my car, musta been lingering) - rummaged through the car and found something we forgot to hide. This was enough to tell us they were going to impound the car and do a full search. They used some cop psychology on me and at that point I was rather flustered. Long story short, they found our shit. Charged us each with the full amount. I was under the impression it shoulda been split between the 2 of us instead of double (like if we had an oz of boomers, wed each get 1/2 oz instead of each being charged with an oz). The amounts were even exaggerated to begin with.

Then... they used my phone to text dago to deceive him into coming back by saying I was breaking out and to come pick me up at such and such a place. Texted yogas parents from her phone saying "im in jail at such and such a place" - dont see how thats legal.

Our bond was 40k so we had to pay 4k each.

The killer charges are... 3 Felony Possessions of Schedule I substances and 1 Felony Possession of Schedule II substance. The way they made it seem is that felony possession means intent to distribute? I asked if I was being charged with distribution and they said thats what that means. Ive gotten in trouble in the past, and from my understanding if youre being charged distribution, then you will have a charge that specifically says distribution, so I'm not so sure. Gotta talk to my lawyer today.

Theres a few other BS charges, parephenalia and simple possession of MJ (which is bull, didnt have any mj), open container (had a small bottle of jack that had been opened in my backback)

I went in 06 and last year, but not this year. Seemed pretty much the same: good lineup, long waits, very hot, lots of panic about drugs, lots of drugs, lots of debauchery. I'm getting too old for that kind of shit. Looks like a fun lineup though. Flaming Lips are always a good time, Michael Franti and Lotus are probably my favorite hippie circuit bands, Jeff Beck and Les Claypool also do good shows, and I've heard Thievery does as well. The worst part is making tough decisions, like LCD Soundsystem or Galactic late night. C'mon Jason, Stevie goddamn Wonder is there.
