Funny how people can focus on small areas instead of seeing the whole picture.
For example:
TigronX has identified some social dynamics that manipulate political movements, etc.
But he cant see how the systematic attack on masculinity through such social mechanisms like metrosexualism and promotion of homosexuality, are contributing to the people's inability to influence the type of society we live in.

So please explain the difference between the idea of Communism as it is defined and Socialism as it is today with our current President.

Everyone should be equal, government controls the mass media(fcc), taxing the rich and supposedly giving to the poor in order to make everything equal. affirmative action, social security, public health care, cap n trade, protecting worker unions, please go down the list of this presidents reign of terror and some other previous social programs and tell me that they don't all in essence equal the bottom line of Communism. Even Wikipedia agrees with me that sociopolitical ideology changes.

That's very simple.

There are actually two types of Socialism, authoritarian Socialism (e.g. Marxism, state-Socialism) and libertarian Socialism (e.g. Mutualism, anarcho-Socialism). Now if Socialism is to be defined as the "newer" view, as a "system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the State" wouldn't that make the ideas of the ingenious and rational philosophers such as Proudhon, Tucker and other anarcho-Socialists directly contradictory (as they were anarchists)?


All in all, you don't go and read a book from the 1800's with today's popular use of a given term. You go and look at the classical definition or the definition used during a given time period. Marx took the classical definition of Socialism and expanded upon it, and in turn, he created what is now known as Marxism -- which is similar to the state-Socialism you see pushed by Obama.

So, you can't lump that all together as "Socialism" without contradicting anarcho-Socialist views.


If you knew how to read, I wouldn't have to make this distinction twice.
