Do you mean the one in the opening credits or the one when the subspace thing starts?
The opening credits is classical, it's not Vangelis, but I can't place it.

The classical one at the start is O Fortuna.
As for the first 8bit MIDI I don't remember but it's bugging me because I'm sure I've heard it before. The one after it is the battle music from Final Fantasy 2, if you're interested
