so apparently 'EU' is banning plant foods, herbs, vitamins, minerals, supplements & indigenous remedies.

The EU has passed a directive that comes into full-force in April 2011: that
all herbal and mineral supplements are to be banned, all teaching of
alternative healing methods will be banned, and homeopathic colleges
dissolved.....etc. As of this summer it is now forbidden to sell books about
using plants and minerals..

I'm not a supporter of "alternative" medicine, since it is all quack medicine/science with no substantial evidence of it ever being helpful (rather, many cases prove the opposite, some people have been seriously hurt or have died from it), but the EU is obviously taking away the rights of the people of Europe, just like all us Americans have told you would happen.

You can't allow a big government structure like that and think it will work out for the better. It is only hurtful toward the people. You guys screwed yourselves in that aspect.

That being said, homeopathic medicine is a complete quack job. I studied up on it, and their little miracle cures are simply giving patience water and them believing it is helpful. Sometimes, believing something will help can make your body respond to it, but it is simply psychological, not real medicine.

Either way though, that is obviously against the rights of the people. How can you ban things like that? I don't understand how the EU gets away with shit like that. You Europeans actually LIKE the EU for shit like this? Anyone else remember when they banned certain lightbulbs because of the lie called global warming? I guess they didn't realize those super "green" fluorescent lights have dangerous mercury in them, which aren't exactly environmentally friendly themselves.

Also, how the fuck can they ban PLANT FOODS, VITAMINS, or MINERALS? Are you fucking serious? Almost EVERY FOOD/PHARMACEUTICAL known to man has some basis of plant food, vitamins in them, and minerals. Where does the EU think the nutrition comes from in meat? Animals eat plants, we eat the animals, we get the nutrition from both. What the fuck? Is the EU this retarded? Also, how the fuck are Europeans so blind? Are you guys a bunch of sheep? How does banning nutritional vitamins/minerals mean anything good? What do they think athletes take, let alone anyone that tries to live a healthy life?

I just don't understand. I can see trying to 'restrict' quack job medicine like homeopathy, but I can't understand why they could get away with banning vitamins and minerals. Everyone would die if they didn't have that, and many processed foods don't have enough of them in the food to create a healthy diet, meaning you have to take pills to substitute it.


Are they going to ban all the pharmacutical companies too? I mean, all medicine is based on one plant or another. Where do you think your pretty pills come from?
