Respawning into a safe zone? Why didn't we think of that? Then we can be just like EG and DSB. Sharks can mine the safe zone. 'Birds can patrol it's perimeter and shoot anyone that ventures out. Levis could ?buy their way onto an LT without being challenged. What a great idea!

If you and the lamer guy are so concerned about spawnkilling you should take a minute to read the rest of the rules in the top left corner of the map. Specifically those concerning how to play Trench Wars.

Don't be full of scourn, you'll die if you sit, talking in spawn.
Don't whine about staff, hunters, and lag. Make yourself useful and fight for the flag.
Don't delay, attach to a terrier today!

I never understood TW.

The point is to capture the base and defend it.

But 1/3 of the people spawn in spawn area.

1/6 have their own pub duel near safe/side.

The other 1/6 LevitTerr/protect the LT and/or hunt the LT. *unless it's pure-basing weekend*

Most people go to ?go base/?go elim/?go baseelim and so on.

And yet...TW is still the most populated zone in SS...

Why?

The following things are illegal in Trench Wars:

1. Cheating (no warning) or abusing bugs in the game.
2. Third party programs, such as debuggers (EG: SoftIce), bots, cheats, etc.
3. Deliberate or excessive team killing. Including team killing somebody back!
4. Discrimination, racism, childporn or anything related to it inside the game.
This includes but is not restricted to names, squad names and banners.
5. Excessive and deliberate verbal harassment, spamming or flooding of public
or private channels. If it is less serious the victim(s) will be advised to
use '?ignore Name', ESC I (for public macros) or change their ?chat.
6. Flooding and spamming rules also apply to the ?cheater and ?help commands.
Use ?cheater only for reporting cheaters or team killers. Use ?help only
for asking game related questions.
7. Advertising other zones is not illegal, however bothering people with
private ad messages or flooding the public chats with it is!
8. Manipulating your lag, no matter how this is accomplished (downloads, modem
feature, program). Non-abusing players exhibiting extreme lag will be asked
to reconnect to the zone. Refusal may result in a forced kick off the zone.
9. Using spectator mode to locate and hunt a specific enemy (spec hunting).
10. One person running multiple Subspace/Continuum clients at the same time.
11. Going outside the map boundaries, no matter how this is accomplished.
12. Idle players may be put into spectator mode, so other people get a chance
to play in that team or arena. A small ban may be issued in extreme cases.
13. Pretending to be a staff member, for example by threatening to ban people or
wearing a <ZH> or <ER> tag. Also, if your name is too similar to that of a
moderator you may be asked to change or adjust it to avoid confusion.
14. Violating event rules in (sub)arenas hosted by a referee or in (Base)Elim.
Rules and warnings are usually given in the form of (green) arena messages,
so pay attention to them.
15. Being disruptive to the game in any other way than listed above.


PS: Killing players as they spawn is lame, but you will not be banned for it.
BaseElim: Killing outside of base during a jav elim is allowed.

OO, one way doors, thats a good idea.

Anyway... not too many ppl in pubs base anyway. IF they put a safety in da middle they could also: increase price for buying stuff; make the safety big enuf so the sharks wont have enuf mines to mine it completely. And i didnt see vulching so much in EG and DSB. Besides, vulching is less annoying and much more avoidable than spawn killing. And if the safety is WIDE enough, you can just move to a spot where there aren't as many vulchers and go from there. I've used that in my zone, works beautifuly. (crap, spelling)

I think his point is that adam <ER>, the bane of the reasonable man's existence, was such an immature dick that he hunted A Lamer in pub just to try to spawnkill him. He made sure to include the fact that Pusher lifted the ban, so it's not like he was trying to trash talk all of staff, just make fun of the stupid people.

The reason we're the most populated zone in subspace is not because of our pub. It's because of our sub arenas in my opinion. What other zone has as many hostings/fun events going on as trench wars? Other zones have what... ELIM? Where did elim come from? OMG TW!

Only thing tw needs now is prac games (non squad vs squad)
and thanks to Rule's post and Mythrandir's bot like response (i am wondering if he is some form of artificial intelligence that dock> whipped up.. what better to have run staff then people you create your self ) we'll have that soon :P

My favorite would be king of the hill style team matches.. where one team enters, another team enters, winning team stays in, next team challenges, etc. Goes on forever until people get bored and leave, but the team that stayed in the longest could like, have their name stored until next the next team beats their record or something. LIke... adam <ER>, animol, blood, rough, nameeater played 8 teams, won 8 times. heh, could be fun ;O).
kinda like the queued duels in dueling arizona.. always loved those

but yeah, mostly, when I play in pub, it is to jav inside base and annoy the hell out of people, or to jav on the roof hehe. spawn is evil for javs :P. maybe we could implement a prize bot that gives someone shields for like, 2 seconds

another thing i think would be rockin, is if we implemented a hider system for pub. that way, all those evil levi terrs that go running around, or the evil levis that hide.. will give their coordinates mwahahaaAHAHAA!!
