What are some good android applications worth getting? (preferably free ones)

as far as tw chat app, still under development as far as i know.

if i wasn't a dumbass loser who dropped out of college, i'd have a fully fledged comp sci degree and would be perfectly capable of developing the damn thing myself. as it stands, i'm more of a web designer and low-end web scripting developer. so i can't do shit with android (other than root phones).

angry birds and fruit ninja are probably the best games you can get as of now. i play some poker as well. just search poker or texas hold em and you'll see the app i'm talking about near the top of the results.

swype is nice. came pre-installed on my samsung captivate. all other preinstalled apps were not so great.
simi folder / simi clock for customization
launcher pro to customize the homepage. It also lets you hide apps, so you don't have to look through all the preinstalled apps that you cannot delete.
imo chat for instant messaging
PewPew is a fun astroid-like game. I think it's funner than angry birds.
Opera Mobile for internet browser

i use launcher pro plus, beautiful widgets and fancy widgets pro to customize my home screen on my tbolt. probably gonna try out mClock soon too because i found a sweet MIUI based clock and calendar theme on deviantart.

but my phone's rooted too and i customize the shit out of it because i'm nerdy like that.

sound hound is great but i can't recall if there's a free version or not. it listens to any song playing in the background and will identify the song title and artist.

go sms or handcent are a lot better than the default messaging program.

Shazam does the same and there is a free version of that.
