i always thought about getting a GSXR but my broke ass could never afford one at first. Then after all the years of seeing all of my friends and everyone else with one turned me off to it.

I've been riding for a few years, in both worlds. My first bike was an R6 (so nice choice, Money ), which was a fuckload of fun. I miss it every time I see one on the road. I upgraded to an R1 a few years later, which was even more fun, but even more of a hit on the wallet.
Last summer I bought my first cruiser, V-Star 1100, and it was a great season. I've put more miles on it in a few months than I did over 2 years on my R6. It's a different kind of culture.
The type of riding most people do in North America is all about feeling - so whatever floats your boat, in my opinion. I'm sure you'll enjoy your bike - just don't become a victim of cagers.TWLD CHAMP x1 Fierce (Benched 100%)
