OMIGOD A ZELDA GAME THAT HAD ELEMENTS OF A DIFFERENT GENRE OF GAMES, EVERYBODY RUN AND/OR SAY HOW SHITTY IT WAS!

Majora's Mask was good. The story was interesting, the sidequests were good (Kafei and Anju, anyone?), the non-transformation masks were fun to play with (bunny hood and stone mask especially), and the music was good. And the fact you could re-fight bosses whenever you wanted was good - the fact you didn't have to replay the dungeon was better. The transformation masks kicked ass. Except for the Deku scrub one. If Great Bay were bigger, I could have spent hours swimming around using the Zora mask. The only bad thing about Majora's Mask was that it was too darn short. Wind Waker also suffers from this. However, both are exceptionally good games, as befits the Zelda name.

Edit: I said Link's Awakening when I meant Adventures of Link. The second one for the NES. I am easily confused. My apologies.

all of the Zelda Games kick ass. I havent played the windmaker yet but it looks good, except for the graphics... they coulda done better on them

Wind Waker's graphics work very well. Link's "cartoonish" eyes (which have been the topic of heated debate) work because of their size - Link will actually look at things, his eyes will move. If you're worried about the cel-shading detracting from the game, don't worry - you will stop noticing it after about 10 minutes of playing. It looks sleek rather than childish, even if it's like playing a cartoon. Shigeru Miyamoto wanted to take Link back to his roots (as a little boy), so some of us were thrown off when Link was so different in his finalized form from what we had seen at Spaceworld - the Ocarina of Time adult Link fighting Ganondorf. However, if the more realistic style of graphics are what you're looking for, I have a pretty good feeling the next Zelda Gamecube game will have them. Until then, play Super Smash Brothers Melee!

That's over doing it a little too much...

Link's Awakening was good...but face it, it's just a video game.

I finally downloaded a copy of Morrowind and let me tell you, this game is the best rpg ever. I cant stop playing this game. I just wanted to share the joy I get from this game to all.

Also I can't wait for Fable to come out.

The cartoonish cel-shaded Link moves much more fluidly than the polygon-based models. If it's a matter of style, I would counter by saying that the Ganon of Windwaker looks much better than his 64 bit incarnations. Since this Link is technically not the same Link as the previous stories, the change of style reflects the mood of the story. Ganon however is the same Ganon as before, so comparing the two is better than comparing the two Links.

The use of cel-shading also made it easier for them to have him show different emotions. Seeing him smile around his sister or his eyebrows narowing to a V shape while sidling before doing a Solid Snake-esque peak around a corner are a vast improvement on old stonefaced 64 bit Link. And watching Link when he lifts the huge boulders has got to be one of the most charming instances of this animation style; there's just something about the serious look to his face with that lower lip jutted out that makes this Link more appealing than the previous ones.
