There's also tricks with lighting that can really screw with your mind.

If you get two different people for something like that, and they don't touch up either of the pics, they can claim that the pictures weren't altered in anyway. There's nothing that states that it's the same person.

Or it is one single photograph, and the person is really F***ed up.

Well the eye color is different. Unless you're supposed to use the cosmetic as an eyedrop as well, the eyes are the first thing that gives it away.
