Gamefaq's Video Game Character Tourny.

I'm sure many of you are familiar with gamefaqs.com. Some of you would therefore be familiar with their video game character tournament (now in its second running). For those of you not familiar with it, what they did was place 64 characters from video games spanning multiple console and PC titles (although they are a bit skimpier when it comes to computer games) in a single elimination tournament where visitors vote for who moves on in each daily matchup.

While the gamefaqs site allows people to vote, I think it'd be interesting to hear some discussion about the pairings from this community as well. The voting could be based on popularity, who would win in a fight, who is the bigger badass, whatever. I'd like to hear some fo the reasoning behind some of your pics too.

Today's pairing is Tidus from Final Fantasy X vs Ganondorf from the Zelda series.

Hmm i gotta go with my nintendo favs here. Mega man could kick any1's butt and should win the West division. Id like Wario or Kefka to win the South because they both fight dirty, but Mario will probably get voted through to win. I dont like any1 from the East ..... maybe Bowser and the North should come down to Link and Samus

Furthermore, Link will win the North easily with the exception of a tight race against the horny teenagers who drool over Samus.

The East has by far the toughest division.... putting Sonic and Bowser in the same division? WTF? My 2 favorite characters. Oh well, Bowser takes it on sheer oldschool factor.

Then you have the amazingly boring South division. I'd love to see Shadow run in and beat the shit out of all of the people who are going to make Mario and Sephiroth win. Screw you guys.

Last is the West division. First off, fuck Solid Snake. Second off, fuck Tommy Vercetti. The only character deserving of winning this division would be Dante. Mega Man should place 2nd, but no character who uses the Top Spin should ever come close to messing with Dante.

My choices are obviously correct, so feel free to change your votes.

-raises hand- not only i am a horny teenager who thinks Samus is the greatest thing since sliced bread (which i really dont like anyway), but i think that all she really would have to do in real life is charge up her plasma beam and fucking disintergrate Link. Don't get me wrong, im a hardcore Zelda fan, but can Link with a sword defeat Samus with a freaking gun attached to her arm? Sure you could put up the fact that its the Master Sword and can't be broken or shit, but one good shot by that plasma gun, boy link is out for the ccount no matter how many fucking hearts you have.
