Have you guys seen ppl around your school using online Lingo? I've seen assloads. for example, girls write notes with it all the time. Plus today I've seen two guys wearing 1337 shirts - one says "p34c3!" and the other one "1 pwn j00!". It's kinda weird seeing people using the sacred language of internet IRL.

I once knew a girl who said lol.

Actually not so much "knew" as "heard her say it in a class and told her she was a moron"

I taught a lesson once using chat acronyms. I was using that as an example of how language evolves in certain environments.

For your information Scout, it's "citings", not "sitings".

Second, there are these girls in my English class who always say the "basic" internet acronyms (i.e. lol, gtg, omg, etc.).

Not for anyone's information but maybe more for their interest, "sightings" is more likely what he meant, as he asks if we've "seen" any such examples.
