the breaking of Sarumans staff should be on the extended DVD. Saurons assumption that Pippin has the ring, and Shelob (which I have mentioned already) will be included in Return of the King.

Also I found out yesterday that the Game coming out will be on all platforms and for the PS2 atleast will be online.
If The Two Towers game was any indication of what this one will be I think it will be like a "Game of the Year" kind of game!!!
"Bilbo" SS is a sophisticated chat channel, nothing more.

          Hush aussie.

I actually just finished watching the movie, the end of the movie never got to the point where Gandalf and the company enter Isengard. So there's no evidence that it's been skipped or forgotten about.

Any guesses on how long the extended version of the TT will be?
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

First of all, its Silmarillion not Simarlion or whatever it was mispelled as. IMHO Silmarillion is much better than LotR, but the style of writing is much different, its as different from LotR as LotR is from The Hobbit.

The book Aenima was talking about, with the epic poetry and stuff, was probably Lays of Leithian, which IMHO is better than Sil, but the actual Lay of Leithian is majorly incomplete, and there are two versions of it that were written by Tolkien in different parts of his lifetime, the original and the revised version. They are part of a series called History of Middle Earth, which Christopher Tolkien compiled from various notes and incomplete or unpublished manuscripts. It was Christopher Tolkien who put together Silmarillion in the first place. Sil was never published by JRRT, and was somewhat incomplete, in that there were many complete versions of it. However, they often contradicted each other, and furthermore the complete versions had to be pieced together themselves from various scattered parts. Christopher T ended up having to actually write certain parts of it in prose from JRRTs notes, although his writing is good enough I can't tell which part is CT and which part is JRRT.

Other neat HoME books are Book of Lost Tales I & II which are a really early Silmarillion, and Morgoth's Ring, also Unfinished Tales is nice, but it isn't part of HoME, it has more to do with LotR than Sil.

                  I'm a Tolkien geek

k2 if you're gonna correct ppl on spelling mistakes then it's Luthien not Leithien.... In the extended version of the first movie Aragorn sings some of the lay of Luthien, good story about Luthien and Beren

i almost immediately noticed after the first movie that there was no singing in it, except when Gandalf was entering Hobbiton on his cart, it was more like mumbling and humming though

it's nice that Aragorn will be singing:P

after recently starting to read the books again, i keep feeling myself referring to the movie...when in reality, they're not always going to be the same in every aspect, so i just take each one seperately for what they are, it makes things more enjoyable that way

hehe the books are amazing though, absolutely amazing. And reading about Numenor and the Valar was great too because you get that sense of all the history and it makes the story that much more profound. In the the silmarillion it was basically About Feanor who created the 3 silmarils or the silmarilli and morgoth stole them and he went on a huge revenge war to get the back basically and sauron was a servent of morgoth so these things were huger then the ring and sauron which makes you wanna know more aHGHGHHG!!!

In the extended version of the first movie, you can see the elves go throught the forest signing. Way in the beginning when Frodo and sam leave to the bree.

And what I missed the most in the first movie, was the forest and that Tom dude. Shame that wasnt in the movie.
