credit cards

recently I walked into my bank, I wanted to buy something from an internet store. So I ask my bank lady to set me up with a basic credit card for 500 dollars. She asks me for Id and my bank card, then types some things in her computer.

she replies," Its on its way Mr. Carter."

today I went to pick it up, sent via registered mail. I open up my mail and pull out a td bank visa card. I scroll down expecting to see a 500 limit, and it says 20,000.:eek:

If you want to buy stuff online, get a debit card. That way you can't spend money that you don't have.

ohh I'm not worried about that slashing syndrome. They usually hope for people with that problem, nothing seems better then free money now, pay it when I can.

having a good credit rating is extremely positive. i got out of college with no credit at all and i will be paying huge iunterest costs if i can't get it up before i buy a house.
