  • and a structured poem

    Tether

Glowing white faces with spinning black hands
Hands always ready to pull in the reins
How quickly slip away these endless sands

We find ourselves servant to their every command
We are held in their bondage by the strongest chains
Glowing white faces with spinning black hands

Forever we're bowing to constant demands
    Finally fragmenting under the strain
How quickly slip away these endless sands

Needlessly greedy, they gather our strands
Pulling them out, ruining the skein
Glowing white faces with spinning black hands

We could wander forever in these immense lands
But in one lonely desert we are contained
How quickly slip away these endless sands

The world around us beautifully expands
Our course in it is a thinning dead vein
Glaring white faces with horrid black hands
How quickly slip away these empty sands

what set of poetry would be complete without a sonnet?

    Shimmer

In the vastness of space, a star super
Novas. Maybe someone will see its light,
But even then it will merely be a blur
Finally forever fading out of sight

    Immense forests quickly turns
    To glorious, flaming, arboreal
Pyres, until there’s no more wood to burn
    Winds disperse the final memorial

Peering into a placid lake we find
Our reflection, but a drop will create
Distortion on the surface, and in time
    Even these ripples will attenuate

We will be forgotten, but while worms clean
Our remains, grass above us grows more green

You know Shade, we should set up the SSDPS, or SubSpace Dead Poet's Society. Get a bunch of people together in an arena and share some macro'd writings.
