how is it mediocre?
It's such a complete album, about 75% of it is strieght bangers, the production is incredible (kanye, just blaze, alc, em, 9th wonder, nept, etc.), and the concept is amazing. It starts out with "december 4th" when he was born, then it goes through the different stages of his career, showcases all his styles (from Dirt off Your Shoulder to 'Change CLothes and Go' to Lucifer), he speaks about the biggie controversy (him 'biting') in a most elequant way, he self-promotes then gets humble, and he gives thanks where its due. Throughout the whole album his voice is changing and adapting, on some tracks he sounds completely different then his norm, just shows you how hes been able to adapt and reach the pinnacle of his flow/pace/tone/voice.
And yea, Pun was a skilled MC, nobody was able to spit it like he was, with the exception of maybe Big L (only with a bk voice not a latin one).
