  • !?!?!?!

I got an old comp(not that old) that used to be my familys main comp until we upgraded, so I decided to fix up our old comp. The 10 gig hard drive in it was full of just shit, so I formatted my hard drive so everything was gone. I put win 98 on it, but there is just one problem I need help with: everything works fine...except I can't get the internet to work! Do I need a driver for the ethernet port? What do I do!?

you need the card to work, a cable, a modem, and an isp.

a computer that came with a 10 gig harddrive probably came with a 56k modem, so you'll probably have to buy another modem if you're using something else

believe it or not, but the computer i use came with a 9 gig harddrive...

No, no, no. This comp used to be in perfect working condition with cable internet, I got all that stuff,(cable modem etc) and it all works great with the 2 comps I have connected to it right now. The only thing is the comp wont recognize the ethernet port I got in the back bay of the it. And I dont know what to do

You might need to get proper drivers...

Or, call up the technical help number that's provided somewhere in your Win98 manual.
