  • Are people stupid

Yes, in my mind, most of the people are .... for example:

When some producers of perfumes/cosmetics say that their products are 'against animal testing', many idiots who call themselves 'have strong moral sense' would instantly recognise the company as being 'responsible'.

I mean, wtf, they didn't test it on the animal, so did it test on the human ... but that is a violation of human right, isn't it? Now say if they did not test it on the animal, and did not test it on human and they sell those product to us. Then what the heck ... are we the consumers, guinea pigs who pay money to get their newb product tested on us?

    Retarded, RETARDED!!!

2nd of all, I think Government and mafia share a lot in common. Think about it: people pay mafia 'protedtion fees' and government 'taxes' to protect them from getting 'unrightfully' violated. And if you don't pay the $$$, haha, in mafia case, you get beat up, in govornment case: you go to prison.

3rd: computer virus: they are good in the overall development of computer technologies.

Why? think about it ... software companies like microsoft don't spend enough money in testing ... so there are millions of loophles in their products. They don't give a damn about their consumers, expect for how to get the most money out of their pockets.

It is those computer virus programmers, who are the really testing engineers who help the software gaints like microsoft to plug their holes.

I hope Microsoft getting sued for tortious neglecgence (law students/lawyers would know what I am talkling about).

hahaha, personally I think I am more brillant when I am drunk ... like now.

if you flame on my opinions above without a valid reason, you instantly go on to my list of 'dispised people', but of course your thoughtful contribution to the subject is respected and appreciated.

Once I was asked why don't I show respect to some of the other players, to which I replied:

'I respect who ever earns my respect ... it doesn't come free'

Why do you make one assumption then jump to conclusions? As with most things that you "debate" on this board, a simple web search could begin to answer your questions. Thirty seconds after I read this post, I did a search for alternatives to animal testing and came up with 305,000 hits. That's a lot of information that you conveniently neglect.

If any "human testing" goes on, it's the kind where people get paid to do it. The job I work at does it all the time. It's not like the companies have hit squads of marksmen walking around with sniper rifles, drugging and kidnapping random percentages of the populace. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I'm sorry, did the mafia come and plow my street yesterday morning when a foot of snow decided to deposit itself on my city? I must've slept through all the tommy gun fire. Yes, you pay money to the government for protection, but it's not "mafia protection". In return for taxes, there are a lot of social/educational/public works/whatever plans that are funded. I thought that everyone knew this, but evidently Australia has decided to educate it's population using only the Sweet Valley High compilation and a used VHS of Scarface.

I have never seen one piece of truly bulletproof code. Period. And since you're hinting at Microsoft being the bad guy here, let's turn it around. You know how many times I've had to patch the SGIs around my office this past year? (Better question is, do you know what an SGI is?) By the time you get done with device driver updates and kernel rebuilds, you're back up to the same amount of time spent patching all the MS machines.

Bottom line: Software companies usually try to write the best code they can to achieve a certain ends. But no matter how many hundreds (or small handfuls) of programmers that you have working on a project, there are always going to be millions of people who have nothing better to do than to break it.

Again, wrong. You're making the assumption that virus authors are just people who want to bring attention to flaws in a system. SO WRONG. Let's take a quick look at the two sides of the coin:

Good hackers (or "white hats", as the media likes to call them) notice flaws in OSes/applications/whatever and notify the developer in a quiet fashion. This usually gives the developer time to work with the "white hat" to fix the vulnerability.

Virus authors bring attention to flaws, exploit them, then use the exploit to advance their own personal gain. Take last week's net bombardment of the Novarg/Mydoom virus. The whole intention was to create zombies to dDOS SCO (and with the later strain, SCO and Microsoft). Now you tell me, what good does that do? Virus authors don't help anything, not at all.

i mean, its not like microsoft sits down with Phr34k_hack3r666 and asks him what viruses he will be making this year. Microsoft cant predict them all, so viruses are inevitable.

kim, dont worry, he is crazy

oh, and on the animal testing - yeah yeah, just look at the shit chemically. they do that shit now.

Telcat, it seems as if all you do is sit at home and drink, which makes me think that you should probably get out of your house more, and then maybe you would realise things that everyone else already knows, therefore not making such an ass out of yourself.

Wait, that can't be helped, can it?

Maybe you should just stop posting, coz everytime that you post, what you say just gets dumber and dumber, and makes even less sense than the last time you wrote something..
