What's TW Staff policy on bannable names? read: forbidden names.
I find it very logic that adolf hitler is blocked from entering subspace (the name itself), and if you would hypothetically succeed in entering with it, you would be asked to get rid of the name and get banned eventually for it.
However, a name like Mark Dutroux is tolerated. Whether this is with a 'k' or a 'c' wont matter, since adolf h1tler is bannable too (names that are meant to look like the original one) point is that this name should be forbidden too. For those who not know, he is a child molester (spelled correctly?), rapist etc, also some of his victims were found dead and he might be a member of some childporn network. Staff's first answer was that the name is not forbidden/bannable.
To go back to the forbidden names thingy, after the 9/11 all names related to Osama Bin Laden were found offensive too, in fact, if I recall 100% correctly the original name was on the blocklist of server. Its not my place and or position to judge about who is worse, Dutroux or Bin Laden, but fact is that a lot of people are hurt by those individuals. And since a lot of children play this game, some of them might even have known the little children that got victimized by Dutroux, Belgian children.
So I want to make a statement: staff should set a clear rule on when and which names are offensive and bannable. At least for names that get much media attention and had great impact on the/a society as a whole.
