Correct definition of Spam

So Izor gets banned. The reason was spam. All he did was macro "ez %killed".

I assume he got a warning first, then he decided to "spam" again.

Lets forget about that for a minute. I want upper staff, (and by upper staff I mean DoCk> and Pure_Luck), to give us a clear definition of what spam is and in regards to using macros. I say this because no one seems to mind one bit when terrs "spam" their frequency chat to "Attach for base now <---- terr".

They do it more that a few Pubbers using "ez %killed" macros.

As far as I can tell, the kind of spam most people don't like to see is of the pointless, annoying bullshit variety. A terr spamming two or three lines of "attach for base" isn't pointless. If you ask me, it's perfectly acceptable when you're playing like a good little boy, just looking to put in your time basing.

Some jerkoff like Izor, or anyone else for that matter, who fills line after line, or even every other few lines of public/team/private chat with useless crap like "EZ" this and "PWND" that is nothing but an annoying prick, and I'll be damned if every player in the arena should have to take the initiative to ignore a dickhead like that. If you want to be an annoyance, bend the rules or push the envelope, be prepared to deal with the consequences.

In conclusion, all the pissing and moaning in the world isn't going to get your buddy Izor unbanned. You're not going to get Moot in trouble. He's a good, honest moderator. And last, but not least, ditch the rebellious act. It's as stale as a saltine cracker left in an opened package in the back of the cupboard for three weeks.

Using ez macros is fun. I don't use them to annoy people. I do it for fun. Coomon now, everyone always says this is just a game, so just deal with it.

I personally get tired after about half an hour, then start basing, at which time I start to get teamkilled to hell, in front of moderators that do nothing. So I switch to a private frequency and start my ez macros again.

Whats more annoying than "spamming macros"?

I think getting teamkilled in front of staff, and those teamkillers not even getting a verbal warning is annoying. It's annoying that a team kill is less drastic than a macro.

As far as me "acting rebellious" Jason, what do you know about being good. As far as I can remember, you have always been the Prince of TW Rebellion, so dont give me this bullshit about how other players should stop that rebellious acting in TW.

but spam or flooding isn't based on saying "oooh, 4 lines or more". That's just opening room for everyone to say 3 macros at a time, or such. Basically, in my opinion, spam/flooding is any amount of text that is annoying to other players or causes a disturbance in the flow of normal chat. and if you think you and Izor are being singled out. I've been in games where I've had to warn/ban people out for flooding chats.

The %tickname command should just be disabled for pub chat macros. I can't think of a good reason why it shouldn't be.
