Hockey Leagues

Look i know a lotta ppl love hockey and would luv it if tw started a hockey league. I'm also aware that TW tried this already and it fell flat on it's face. The reason for this I believe is that squads were involved. People already do enough events with their squads (twdd, twjd, twbd) without having to play in a hockey league. But here is my idea to make a TW hockey league that is fun. Have a draft. If we established 8 Teams with "owners" or guys who didn't play, but made all the teams decisions, and entered 100 ppl or so into the draft and had each team pick ten players for a team (so in practice they could go 5 on 5) then this league would work. The owner's job would be simple establish and set practices, maintain team morale, make a banner and name the team, coach, and deal with trades, free agents, releasing players...etc. Now basically once a player is drafted on the team he is kinda at the owner's mercy. The owner can trade him if he plays bad, or simply release him if he is not playing good to pick up a free agent (there will be a list of ppl not drafted, called free agents). Now how this idea would work is that you would have 6 positions, Center, Right wing, Left Wing, Midfield, Defender, Goalie and if one of the ppl didnt do their jobs, then you could trade him for someone else, or even 2 or 3 players for one top caliber player. The periods could be like 8 or 10 mins, and at the end of the year their would be playoffs and an allstar game.

All this could happen, but what we need to do is make it fun, and it is my belief that if we make it so that people who dont normally play together in TW (due to being on diff squads), but are friends get a chance to compete with each other, as well as play a great game we could make this into quite a successful league.

Between TWD, TWL, TWEL, TWDT, and now possibly some Strikeball tourny action... we just don't need a hockey league. Take wadi's advice. Go hang out in HZ.

As long as their is a Hockey ZONE with it's own league, there will never be a hockey league in TrenchWars.

You're too late. TW already had a hockey league, I believe, like a year ago? But it wasn't popular enough, so it died... Mostly because of what people already said - If you like hockey that much, there's a zone deticated to it.

errr i think 8 teams for like about 800 some plp isnt enough...some plp will never get the chance to play..

Plus...i mgoing on what others say....a draft isnt too good idea...considering some just want to see if they will be...others are in different time zones...so even IF one was started...itd be a mad house at first with all the bs going on

Correction, it was a hockey tournament. I tried to bring it back after the first died at semi-finals. I dont have much time these days but maybe a little hockey tournament will happen during summer. Not something as big as HZ. Something more fun for us tho than HZ is that our server lag less (just go see for yourself the server is soooo lagggyy with SOOOO NOT MUCH PEOPLE in it).
