..simply because its more intelligent to try and kill the more difficult people, and get better...you dont get better by fighting the easy people.

That is iffy, but in most cases you don't get better by constantly dueling easy people as you find in pubs.

However, single freq pub dueling as its good points:

-constant unlimited dueling.. play as much as you want
-experiment and try moves on weaker players, to get alittle practice, then try it in elim or twdd.
-observe and see common mistakes bad duelers make. A bad example is a good example of not what to do.

I know some say pub dueling is lame, but its fun sometimes and quite relaxing. Though 100% dwelling in pubs is not good, I agree totally.
Good to take a beating once and awhile, shows you where to improve. Also it makes you not stagnate, pushes you to the limit.

I think, at least from my observations, that when you play as an alt your more often than not more relaxed than as if you were on your main name, you can also get bugged less by people who know you.

i think this is true, well it is for me atleast, like for instance in wbduel or elim if i see a player with a name i never seen before i assume he's new, therefore i would rush him and kill him then when i look at his rec its like 16-7 and i killed him about 5 times. but when i see a player like raspi i wouldnt normally rush him i would play safely vs that fag.

Yes dem, I believe what you say. My alias for elim was Distant Star. I dont use aliases anymore for it, I'll just play on my regular name. i don't think i'm good enough for people to treat me like they treat Blood and Mattey. Poor them :< I had a lot more wins on my Distant Star name and a better rec as well. I guess I did have more confidence because I didnt have to worry about worrying about looking bad since it was just an alias. But now i just dont care. I'll probably never be the best.
