This would be more like x-wing or tie fighter. I don't think its a bad idea for a game, but it's not even in the same gameplay category as subspace.

If they really wanted to make a profesional looking game, why not use the torque game engine? (available for about $100). http://www.garagegames.com/ It's a good solution for programmers who aren't exactly at the level needed to pull off this type of game.

I prefer the simple 2D mode as it is now.. but if it gets bugfree... it can be nice i guess... it will be like Freelancer.. i don't know if anyone heard of that game

Supspace 3d next level is like months and months old. I think Strike did it or something. Looks cool but I don't think it would work and I don't think I would enjoy it as 2d Ss :P

I have also seen this Continuum: Next Level thing. I used to think it was a spectacular idea, but now I don't see it in a very positive way. It changes the game way too much. If it were to be a FREE online game that doesnt replace Continuum, sure, I may play it every once in a while for a little change in dimension, but it's just not the same as the Continuum we know.
