Pure Pub Request

I know the staff has a lot on their hands with TWL and everything, but for the majority of the TW population that isn't in TWL, and that likes basing, can you do us an -extremely- large favor?

Can we get the bot to disallow private freqs in pure pub? Yes, I know that some people will say it's fun to go private freq and base, but that screws up the basing game as well, because with three teams, 2 get caught in the bottleneck effect, and since the two public teams are forced to be even, there isn't much they can do about it. There are WAY too many people that cause havoc with the basing experience in those two basing arenas. Duelers, priv freq sharks that just drop mines all over the entrance, to annoy people. Izor and wark, and some others were at the shark terr game again, annoying people and spamming their "ez" macros. We can ignore them on chat, but it's kind of hard to just ignore the shark bombs flying everywhere.

I know it's been brought up before, but that one change would be an immense help to both arenas. If there is any possible way I can help, I'd be glad to do so, but I don't know Java, just C, and that not as well as I'd like to. Thanks in advance for giving this consideration.

i dont think they'd need help with implementing it because they used to do it 1 weekend a month before guanobot and dockbot were made... its probably a simple arena setting that they would change with 1 command

*yawn* Just because you and a couple newbie friends can only manage to green 3 sharks and a terr to 500 bty each after chasing and spec hunting them for an hour and a half doesn't mean that the pub is ruined. I think you could keep pub 0 with GuanoBot as it is, but get DockBot to disallow private freqs in the second pure pub.

A) I was playing one of three ships: Warbird (basing and taking potshots at you), Weasel (when I shot you, for one kill), and Shark (basing), I don't know what you're talking about "greening"

B) I didn't spec-hunt anyone.

and C) You're just another moron that thinks spamming and annoying as many people as possible is fun. Well, it isn't fun for the rest of the arena that you annoy, and I think the majority should count for something.

You and your little band of cronies, Ezor, and Gerry and et al, have had it in for pure pub since it was put in. I forget which of you it was that said on the forum that you do it simply to ruin people's fun, and to show that you don't need LT's to ruin a basing game. Well Congratulations, you're a grade A ass. Now I think it's time to fix it to where you and your buddies can either play in the arena, or not, but stop trying to screw with everyone else that is trying to play. And by the way, please deny that about saying you guys have it in for pure pub, I'd be glad for a reason to go find the thread, and post it to prove you a liar.

You can't have the ?go base lanc without putting it in every pub, and if they want to do that, well more power to them. That's not what I'm asking, I'm not asking for fixed damage, or ship changes, or some imaginary system that they would then have to design... just please remove priv freqs.. If they get rid of priv freqs that'll be a system against freq hopping in and of itself. pure pub almost always has 30+ people in it... that's 15 a side, which means the teams would then be full. With two teams at 15 each being full... you even leave 6 slots left in the arena for spectators or people ready to jump in the game as soon as someone playing leaves.

Since most people who are there to play private freqs in pure pub aren't there for basing this seems like a reasonable request for either pub 0 or 1 if a bot can do it.

good things about private freqs in pubs:

-they allow you to avoid really shitty players who tk you and suck.
-they allow you to play with your pals and only your pals
-increases the difficullty level, if you want it to.

bad things:

-throws off the balance of the enitre pub--either 1 freq ends up totally dominating, or 1 freq ends up totally sucking.

I don't know about everyone else, but I've always said that negative far outweighs any of those benefits of private freqs.

I had a comment about all the whining on the forums about what some people do in pub.

I pretty much retired from laming and macroing "ez".

The fact that Izor is a very good terr and can get his sharks to get 500 bty each, doesn't mean he's a bad guy.

He is a good guy, and he just likes to have fun.

They won't ever allow Priv. Freqs to be banned on those 2 areans. Taking Priv. Freqs from pub is like taking the weasel and the leviathan away.

It's simply part of the game, and if you are too much of a crying baby, then tough luck..
