Hosted base tournaments are awesome

Everyone loves the hosted ?go base tournaments, and I think they should be done more often. For anyone that doesn't know, they are quick tournaments that are done in about an hour or so. They pick 4 captains, and then each captain picks 8 players plus 2 subs. Two of the teams play each other, and the other two play each other; the winner of both games plays each other for the title, and then the winning time is announced with a *zoner.

The recently hosted tournaments were done at a pretty late time (after midnight EST) and they seemed to go pretty well. I bet we could almost get an 8 team tournament going if it was started at a better time. Even a 4 team tournament at a better time would work awesome, and it wouldn't take nearly as long to pick teams as it does at the later times, because captains ended up wasting a lot of time trying to get people from their chats to come play on their teams.

Anyway, hosted base tournaments are awesome, and I really hope that they are hosted more often these days.

Thus far, Diakka's done a couple, and I've done one. I plan on doing more, and I'm sure he does as well. I'm also fairly certain we can get more ERs interested. Between strikeball and base, I plan on getting involved in lots of hosted tourny action. :]
