Illegal banning reason, dictatorship ?

Depsite of all my trash about toked, this is something different and I would like an explanation about this.

I got banned for wearing the squadname TOKED=NAZI. Despite of the fact that the two warnings came within like half a minute and I was typing a line to that person who warned me about explaining the stuff to him and got already banned without finishing that line (lol), the following this is quite an abuse of authority :

I got banned for wearing a racist squadname : well calling someone a nazi is not racist. So I filed a complaint using the emailadress given, claiming that that squad I was using wasnt a racist squadname at all. So I get an email back of Overstrand that I got banned for 'staff harrasment', and that the racism part has been dealt with.

Now it gets cloudy here.

So if a non staffer has a fight with a staffer about a non-staff related subject, namely the fact that the staffer wont give back the squad like he promised to and breaks his word. Me, the non staffer, gets pissed and decides to trash him gets banned for it. If thats the case that means that staffers have the freedom to trash people and non staffers dont ? This makes no sense. So staffers got special privileges ? Toked has been an ass to me in private and I have heard things that he did it to other people too (being an ass), so if someone wont accept that and decides to make an anti squad about him he gets banned for it, namely 'staff harrasment'.

Can I get some feedback here ?

If this is the case than it would be quite sad. This means that you can get everyone banned. If someone disagrees with his ban and gets pissed you can put him under the header: staff harrasment and ban him, since staff harrasment is quite a large range to ban people for. Its like one of Stalin's methods to wipe out the non-communist ideas/people.

They in fact admitted it that it wasnt racist, so they made up the 'staff harrassment' , they made up a reason to ban me, AFTER they banned.

After talking it over with the upper staff and talking to the other parties envolved, we have come to the conclusion that what happened was of a personal nature and not illegal. As a consequence your ban has been lifted. This is a formal appology from TWStaff regarding what transpired.

Regarding staff harassment, I think more players should be banned for it. Sure, some staffers are dickheads (like me) and they deserve it. Far too many are damn good staffers though, and they have to put up with endless horseshit from ungrateful players. Without the volunteer work of the few, the many wouldn't be playing in the best damn zone in the spaceship game. Considering the size of our player base, TWD, TWL and the rather large amount of events we routinely host, I'd say this zone runs slicker than shit. Don't bash the guys who make it happen.

Completly agree with you Jason, and thumbs to Cpt. and the rest of the staff. It's good to see that these things are looked over and not just set aside all the time as many think.

Okay, if you were banned for wearing "Toked = Nazi ". That's total bullcrap.

1. Nazi's aren't a race, but, I believe a political group in Germany that was in power during WW2. They weren't nice people, yes, but that still isn't a race. If this is true, you should ban everyone who called Zeus!! or Wadi a forum Nazi.

2. If this ban was over 2 players having an arguement over a squadname, ie: getting one back, trading, whatever you're doing with it, the whole "Staff" thing is thrown out the window. Thats 2 players argueing over a thing in the game, being staff shouldn't have anything to do that. That would mean everyone would have to fear TW staff, thats myself included, to not get into an arguement with a staffer in fear of being banned.

I'm just going off of what I've heard and read. And if this is all over a bad squadname with isn't racist and something to do with it not being sent to the correct person. And it's just an abuse of power saying "Oh, I don't like how you're talking to me, blah blah blah I'm not giving you a squadname (or getting a squadname) *ban*."

3. Again, the term Nazi isn't racist, btw. It's like me calling someone a KKK member, or to a lighter extent a member of a TW Squad, its group of people, its not a race.
