isn't there a way to make a language filter just like the one for bad words? But this would be like ?racism and it would make it so you woudln't see any chat that had certain racist words in it? then everyone could stop moistening their panties on both sides of the debate.

stupid kids say things just to see what they can get away with because everyone makes such a big deal about it.. make the language filter and everyone can drop it.

When you PM slurs or bad words, theyre blocked. I PM's my brother and then looked at his screen and my shit didnt pop up. Tried it with a few more words, same thing. Then pm'd him with "hi" and it showed up.

"Nip" - A local term used in and around San Fran that refers to poor/insane Asian drivers. Most amusing the 1st time I heard a local use that phrase. Am i racist?

What if I named myself BIG BLACK MAN? It seems kind of iffy, but I wouldn't get banned for something like that would I? Or what if i named myself JEW? Would I be banned for that, even if I'm jewish?

Nephi, I'm not arguing with you any more. You say you cannot call them Asians because Asia is "diverse", yet you can call them East Asian when CLEARLY there are whites, blacks, and hispanics living in the area. Sure they're a minority, but they still exist, which was your exact reasoning for why you can't call the yellow people Asians.

TK, we do agree that the policy needs changing, but you think that because of the history of the phrase 'white power' it is more severe. That's taking it COMPLETELY out of context. Pure Hatred got banned for replying to an 'AZN PRIDE' macro with a 'WHITE POWER' macro. It was obvious that he just was showing an equal amount of stupid pride in being white as azn_sneakerboi_2321432. He was not in an all white outfit with a pointed hat screaming it at a rally. Implying that that was the case by bringing up the history of the phrase takes it entirely out of context. I don't know how you want anyone to see it, but punishing a white person for racism for responding in essentially the same way as someone of another race while that person gets nothing at all seems pretty anti-white to me. Or favoring Asians. Either way, it promotes one race over another in itself by allowing one group to have the freedom to do something while another cannot.

You are still misunderstanding me. I never said that only one of them should get punished while the other gets off scott free. I'm saying they should still receive the same punishment. If the "bigger knife" analogy didn't work for you, how about this: the difference is like two almost identical murder trials. One of them has DNA evidence and 2 eye-witness testimonials while the other one has DNA evidence and 10 eye-witness testimonials. One case has more evidence of guilt than the other, yet they are both enough to find their defendants guilty and deserving of the same punishment.

No where am I saying the white person should get a harsher penalty than the other person. No where am I saying that Asians or blacks or other races should get off the hook. No where am I saying one is wrong but the other is acceptable. I am saying that one is more severe than the other because it carries an extra level of meaning, but I am also saying that they should still be TREATED EXACTLY THE SAME.

How many times do I have to say that before you stop thinking I said otherwise?

Turn off ?obscene. In Trench Wars it's automatically turned on, you may want to put ?obscene in your auto commands. (If you play other zones, you may want to tick the box in options that says Obscenity Filter so that the ?obscene always turns OFF obscene instead of turning it ON in other zones (If you get my meaning, sir))

It's like the swastika. Before Hitler used the symbol for his Nazi Party, the symbol wasn't offensive really. It was a religious symbol, a charm.
But words and symbols are made to have a meaning.
Like trafficsigns or a brand's logo. You couldn't start a brand and then use the nike logo. You could try to justify it with the fact that you like the logo and it suits your company. The logo already is assigned to that brand, and so you can't use it.
You couldn't use a STOP sign for anything else but making people stop in traffic.
With racism slurs it's practicly the same. Due abuse of certain words they are stigmatized, and therefor you can't use them without proper context anymore.
You couldn't say: dirty cracker
You would say: hmm this cracker I am eating tastes dirty
Because the first would most likely be put in the racist context. And now don't start crying that you are afraid to communicate now because of this slurs you don't know about.
If you get a warning for a certain word, don't use it and try to find out why it's a slur. Don't start to rebel in your ignorance.

That's the problem these days, people take a look at anti-racism and they automatically assume that it means anti-white, and therefore instinctively bad. That's just because they aren't seeing anti-racism done correctly. Take that misconception out of your thought process and read what I said again. I've said time after time in numerous threads that if someone is racist against whites then it should be treated as if the target was black or Asian or any other race. A fight against racism is a fight against it in any form against any target. Don't just shunt it off and dismiss it as being an anti-white movement.

I know you have that misconception that anti-racism means anti-white, but you've got to get that out of your head. I explained my position many times in each post, but because I'm taking an anti-racism stance, you automatically assumed the worst.

where in the world did i say you can't call yellow people asian? jesus.. i think you might want to learn to read and understand first. And I'm sorry, but there are very very very few white and black in east asia. Most of them there are either tourists, or just work there. No residences or citizens.

Btw.. i've never heard about the term nip.. but it nip is only used to describe poor/crazy azn drivers, then it really shouldnt be considered a racist word. Cause frankly, im azn, and i agree alot of azn drivers really do suck at driving. If nip is considered racist, then FOB should be considered too. However, it's stupid. I get called a fob everyday as a joke and i call people fobs for the same reason, and no one ever get offended by that.
