It would be kinda interesting to see what causes this, because I've changed to shark probably 5000 or so times, using 2 different computers in this time, and I've never had this happen before.
Another different bug I did experience though was on my old computer. Every time I went to type in the alt+tab chat window, there was about a 5% chance that it would totally lock the game up, and make me have to close it with ctrl alt delete.sdgComment

buggi bug
I never had this problem, and i have played with shark on 0.38 and 0.39.
first i would uninstall and delete continuum all together (or backup it somewhere)
then install a clean install (without any shipsets or gfx) and try if it works.

If you use any edited graphics or sounds, that might be your problem.
