I do concur that the extreme negative response was uncalled for, if people don't have anything nice to say, then they should stfu. It's simply a matter of class.
However, it is legimate to question the possibility that this is some kind of sick scam, but nonetheless some respect should always be shown too in this kind of situation. When I bothered to go search for this news, it was in hopes of shutting up some of the inconsiderate boobs that have replied. But in the interest of honesty, I felt obilgated to report the results I found. Note that I made sure to qualify my findings as inconclusive.
