Alright, I was considering making a new thread about this, but I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression and think that I'm attention whoring. Some will probably still think that I'm attention whoring after reading this post, but I suppose there's nothing I can do about that. All of that being said, I'm going to explain here why I'm not bearing the <ER> tag anymore.

It's very simple. First off, I have not been promoted to moderator status, although I do now carry moderator powers (which only slightly differ from <ER> powers anyway). The powers will only be used in my continuing dedication to help out with TWL, and I may end up taking a cheater call here and there if, and only if, no one else is around to hop on it.

Okay, so if I'm not a mod, what the hell am I? I have been granted the opportunity to step up and take a lead development role. Let's face it, Trench Wars is constantly integrating more and more bots and other automated features into the gameplay of the zone. These bots and features don't code themselves. Take into consideration the fact that the size of the development team is incredibly small when compared to the population of the zone, and then combine that with the fact that we can't let any old Joe Schmoe be privy to what's going on behind the scenes (for security reasons of course), thus a trusted person (staffers, believe it or not, can be trusted!) is needed. I hope you can see that my instatement into this position is warranted.

Now I'm not sure if anyone is particularly interested in this next part, but I feel as though it is necessary for me to say this. I promise you guys that we have some neat shit in store for you, and I have every intention of delivering that neat shit as soon as possible. I don't want anyone to think, "Oh, he's one of those dev-nerd-codemonkey guys now. Meh, he's probably just going to dick off." This is not the case at all. I do have a real life, and a real job, and those things certainly take priority over the spaceship game, but I fucking love coding stuff. I'm a computer geek in every sense of the word. I seriously get giddy when I think about all the juicy projects I can sink my teeth into.

So there you have it folks. I hope I didn't come off as being pretentious with this little (okay, not so little) ditty. I'm just trying to be as informative and up front as possible with you guys. Hell, if I was at liberty to discuss it, I'd go into detail about the "neat shit" I mentioned above. We'd rather have the upcoming projects debut in a "stripper popping out of the cake" fashion though.

P.S. I'm still going to host some events now and again when I get the chance. It's pretty much the only way I get to interact with the little guys (for lack of a better term), and I love mingling with the general populous because my only reward for doing all this shit is to see you dudes enjoying yourselves.

Jason, I'm glad to hear that you think so highly of yourself as to refer to non-staff Trench Wars players as "the little guys." Also, I think it's excellent that you feel the need to grace us with your presence by mingling with the "general populous." Personally, I am stoked that you still talk to us. It's a true treat indeed. Thank you so much for making Trench Wars enjoyable. Personally I wouldn't care whether you developed bots or just played baseelim, just as long as you came online. That's my treat right there.

Enough of that. When I saw the thread title "Swimkid <ER>," my first thoughts were "FFS... The forum whores have found another great staffer to accuse of shit and make some huge fiasco." I'm actually really glad to see that this is a thread praising him, because he is the best <ER>, hands down. Swimkid does many things that other <ER>'s never do, like walking the extra mile. He will always host an event twice if the players beg. He always introduces himself, answers private messages, gives any help available, and far exceeds his expected level of performance. Hats off to Swimkid... a real tribute to Trench Wars.

I just hope no one tries to bring a SK scandal onto the forums and ruin everyone's fun....

Chillax dude. I in no way meant to put myself up on a pedestal. I'm just big time disconnected from a majority of the players, as are you most likely. I rarely play at all anymore, and when I do, I'm not playing pub. Who plays in hosted events the most? Pubbers. As a matter of fact, the only reason I used the term "little guys" is because I vaguely recalled one of the dudes in an event I hosted using that wording. I think his name was PeteyMcNasty, but don't quote me on that.

So yeah, don't nitpick at a few, totally unimportant phrases man. Laying on all that sarcasm was completely unnecessary. Instead, maybe you could just give props to whoever it is you want to give props to and leave the rest of us (staffers that is) to do our thing.
