If you're getting paid per click blocked banners aren't serving anything but to scare away new people who happen to not have a blocking mechanism. As for banner ads, who acctaully clicks on those fake quiz (which of these is <name>) or "punch the monkey" type ads? I'd love to see the demographics.

I wouldent mind banners (as long as they arent the ones that give you seziures), but popups, on the other hand, are a diffrent story.

you can make something along the lines of optional ads in the forums... only people who choose to see them will get them. add a setting in a users profile (disabled by default): 'Check this box to see ads'. If that box is checked, you can change the zone ad in the top right corner to a pay-per-click ad. the people who want to support the zone can check the box and will get the ads and can click them to help raise money for TW. people who dont want the ads arent affected at all.
