Kinda hard to say who is actually the best so I'll just go with the people who made the most impact on me.
Javs:
- Psymorph. If anyone can get on your ass and not let you shake them off it's this guy ^^
- BBZ. Never seen thrust bombs like his
Wbs:
- Annul. One second you don't see him, the other second you're dead. Clean and fast.
- Desire. Kinda quit playing now but he was good ^^
And all time Hero is still Abyss. Little bit inconsistent but at his peak nearly unstoppable."People fear what they can't understand, hate what they can't conquer."
"Cherry blossoms in the Spring, and starry skies in the Summer. The Autumn brings the full moon. The Winter brings the snow. These things make Sake taste good. If you don't like Sake, then there is something wrong with you." Seijuro Hiko

I've noticed that there seems to be a difference between pure skill and just knowing how to play this game and being a very smart player. - Bob (SRB)
I agree, their is a differenc between being a good team player, and being pure talent in a ship. - Kid Kaos
To break it down, out of noted players in this game there are more or less 2 types the way I break it down: good players, and successful players.
Successful players are the ones that do what they have to do to get a good record at the end of the game, to succeed in a match at getting a good ratio, etc. Sometimes it doesn't have to take a lot of in-game type of direct talent, just a lot of patience. MetalKid is good for this example. I got nothing against MetalKid, but his style doesn't take use of too much other than knowing how to position your shots on radar, dodging strays, and patience. But he can and often is really successful in the game, with good ratios, etc.
On the other hand, you have those that belong to the good players section, like Blood, who utilize more talent to perform direct hands-on techniques [cutting the butter with the knife] type shit to get stuff done in the game (getting kills, dodging stuff). - SiriusAwesome> i'm 20.. and definately bigger than you... where do you live, if i ever take a vacation there i'll come beat you up 7:Ripper> hahah
7:destroy> he'll come to smash you with his keyboard
7:death row> lol keyboard. must be thug =(((
7:LofTy> Rofl Drow
Sika> 5:Rich> i went bowling with lofty irl
death row> just throw in a disclaimer: drunk lofty, cannot be responsible for drunk lofty's opinion.

it just takes practice and yes, confidence.
if you play like you think you can defeat anyone, you probably will...as long as you dont get overconfident and just run into 1v3s or something (although there are a few players who can run into 1v3s frequently and still kill 1 or 2 and make it out alive)...

I wonder why no one ever considers a good player as one who;
- puts the squad ahead of his/her own interests
- shows up for every match and practice
- sits quietly on the bench to let other people play
- works hard to conducts themselves in a way that does not reflect badly on the rest of his squad
- shows squad loyality
Is it any wonder when we, as a community, keep 'rewarding' the people who only have game skills and then sit here and ask ourselves why things are the way they are?
Perhaps, just perhaps, we should have consider more in this thread than someone's ability to send a digital bullet across the screen.Last edited by Ephemeral; 08-05-2004, 08:21 AM.

You are treating this game way too seriously.

If I can post a different way of looking at things and it helps a little bit, then what is wrong with that? Why is it that you have an issue with me trying to offer this perspective? Perhaps it could be that you have hardened to the 12 year old mentality that exists in these forums and the TW community? If you feel that being an inconsiderate dickhead is acceptable due to the anonymous nature of the internet, so be it. I happen not to feel that way.
