How do people still have these old screenshots almost 2 decades later? Nobody keeps their old Windows 98 towers, let alone their old 40 GB HDD around, do they?

Since the 90s I back up all my files 2x. I have always had a HD for the OS and one for files. I keep my folders relatively well organized and labeled. Nowadays I use FreeFileSync to just mirror my backups. So when I started playing ss again a few months ago, I just unzipped my SS backup from 03 and had everything in there, including screenshots, banners, and profiles.

also, it seems all the oldest accounts on this forum are6/29/2002. maybe we ported over an old forum? my banzi fuq forum login is locked out because it was tied to an AOL account I lost a long time ago.

I think the old Crown of Thorns forums were running the UBB forum software and there was a big migration over to vBulletin. That must have been in the summer of 02.
We can reset your old name's email address if you'd like to use that. (also applies to anyone else who has lost access to their old forum account. or perhaps needs their account name updating to match their ss name. dabram -> bram etc. just ?message me).
