RogerMexico - When I joined Pallies I knew absolutely nothing about basing. I learned how to play almost every ship by watching/talking with him. Way back when (2+ years ago) he was far and away the best "all-around" baser.

No One Can Kill Me - I had a small stint on disoblige, and I spent a pretty liberal amount of time in a private arena with him learning how to jav/make shots. He was a ZH and had powers in some certain private arena, so he could always give me rockets. He's largely responsible for my start in ship 2.

I learned how to terr solely in pub, before any of the basing arenas existed...for anyone that can remember back that far it used to be my only ship for a very long time. I learned the most by playing in leagues (and pub) against people like warportal, Utopia, brookus, Spybreak, wadi, etc.

I made the majority of my warbird progress on X-Wing with Roi, Shiran, Keeper and Azhran (i like fish) since we dueled 8,000 times a day.

I don't really know of any big influences when it comes to javelins. I'd just have to list people I've played alongside for a really long time and picked up things from. People like Hellz, Mr. Spam, Scuzzy.

So the truth finally comes out as to why you joined Diso in that off-season.

I feel like writing a story.

Hmm...back when I was a pubber there was this dude around '99 named Defender in the pubs; he'd fly around in a warbird in the field but wasn't like the average pubber and was kind of hard to kill (I had no competitive desires then so I only knew basic things like flying, boosting, shooting), so that motivated me to chase him around (he was pretty evasive) and try to kill him; I think that somewhat inspired me as to what type of higher caliber of play exists beyond what I knew at the time.

Back in DSB though around 98-99', before I came to TW & when Protection was a big squad there, there was a player there called Blazzin Pro. who was pretty elite and I'd duel him and try to beat him all the time (all in failure) but I'd look up to him at the time quite a bit and is probably the only person I ever really looked up to in this game.

I think about a year and a half later [00'] when I got tired of my name at the time I made the name Sirius. , which was mostly influenced by my previous encounters with Blazzin, and the fact that through players like him I understood that skill, greatness, and player caliber had no connection with the quality of names or titles; people with determination and talent made themselves to be what they are.

As far as influences in the competitive fields of my gameplay...I can only think of one real direct influence I had, and it was concerning my rush style. When I came back from my July '01-Jan '03 retirement I was still a pubber; however around the end of february I birthed a competitive taste for the game and made a squad and began dding and such.

My competitive style was much like any other average players' - trying to hit people with basic midshots, and trying to dodge stuff. The fact that I had been doing this in pubs for years before helped me become proficient at it quite a bit, however, one day around April all of that changed.

These days me and Mythril are rusher buddies; he respects my rushing ability and the first couple of times he's encountered me rushing he was pretty impressed with the fact that me and him are almost identical rushers.

Well what he doesn't know is that indirectly and somewhat on accident, he sparked the rushing mindset in my head. I was sitting in elim spec one day around April just minding my business waiting for elim to start, and I didn't really know him or many other people at the time but my spec was pointing to him alphabetically. Then as I somewhat indirectly watched him play, I noticed his trend and his mindset, and it just clicked into my head.

I probably forgot the incident, however within the next couple of days my subconscious reflexes kicked in with things I saw Mythril do, and within a few days I pretty much assimilated the whole style and built up from it to create another form of my own.

My style however, conflicted somewhat with that of -Final-'s, therefore in order to perform well I had to go back to my roots and re-adopt midshooting/longshooting and radar for competitive games these days.

All my style trips and influences however were quite enjoyable and I don't regret any of them, and do not know which I will utilize in the future days to come.

                        Basing

I learned timing and communication on a shark by watching Machines of God with anyone else as a shark. I think timing and learning how to play as a team on a shark is key to basing matches. Sure, anyone can repel, but not anyone can time themselves perfectly. I am getting better in that timing department.

                        Pub Javelin

Talon. Learned all my javelin shots in pub from him. Just sit in spec, and watch this guy for a month or so. I guarantee you will learn a lot of good shots. That's what I did. I sat in spec for a month, just watching him play. After I watched a shot, I proceeded to go into a private arena, and practice what I had just watched, until I nailed the shot at least 50 times in a row.

                        Warbird

Delectable and mostly anyone from the squad Value with him as a partner. I learned chasing, and rushing at the right moment. I think Delectable is a warbird that doesn't get enough credit.

Sirius. was a good rusher too. He always catched me and just let me have it. I finally learned his style of play and since 4/16/2003, he has not catched me and rushed me in elim like he once used to.

I have watched Deluge and Method play together recently and they are a good duo to watch.

just bored and felt like putting my story

alright, im going to be honest here, i've only been playing tw for about a year now, i started last july i think..i was just pubbing with my brother all the time. Soon, after playing pub like 24/7 i started going to other arenas such as wbduel and duel...i was very new to these arenas and had no idea what they were for so i asked around, after 2 weeks or so i got more familiar with the different arenas and started realizing all the squad-tag's, not knowing how to signup, join or even use ?chat i asked people if i can join there squads. I was pretty shitty but when it came to duels/tryouts but i sorta got lucky and won most of the time.

My 1st squad was lp and everyone sucked in that squad execpt for epoch..later i went to darknet where one player or i should say the only player that influenced me was. hes name was sni(+)per...or now as most of you know him as Yip Man, he was the only one i'd ever see in our dd matches do good like always surpass everyone in the squad by atleast 5-15 kills. I used to watch him dd and see how he shot, dodged and the different times he thrusted..by watching him and seeing how much respect he often got i wanted to be good to, so i kept practiseing and asking people to duel and going in elim, stuff like that.

I've been on many squads but theone i think influnced me the most was affect, Lazure or a2m was the cap and damn was he good..i say this because i was still new to the game and he was fucking elite compared to me, but the thing that influnced me the most about him was his personality...on squad chat he was always kind to us players and was always nice, never seen him mad. He mad me going from whineing about lag and eats and shit to just not careing. Well within 2 or 3 weeks of me joining, for reasons i dont know affect dissolved and we all split up.

I hate to admit it but when I was just starting trench 4 years ago I actually copied delectable's style of play in wb. He'd do the just kind of float relatively still out of range and then just slightly move and dodge out of the way of a shot and kill the newbie who shot at him. That really got me into the whole playing wb under control and as a reaction to other players rather than the chase people down style. Watching Mattey some recently has got me into more of a chasers mood, but that's probably a negative influence on my game.

When I was sharking with Triceratops in priv basing he told me that I was supposed to take turns with him to repel the attacking enemies down and mine while we were lining.
