Force of Nature: A cool guy, never talked to me and prolly doesnt even know, but when i started javing at go javs i used to chase and feed his 4:1 rec trying to kill him, learned a lot from that, now i think im a good chaser 1v1. Btw nowadays he specs when i get in ;P. He is not active anymore, i miss him :~
Lag Killer: We talk lots about teaming and attitude on a jav game.
disown: For bringing all the belim fun when he is on, i love when he specs and says "schope, ur nothing"
schope for all the good discussions on jav ettiquete (however you spell that word), and for doing some fun 1 on 1 duels and what not in javs/#vitprac.

Sirius. was a good rusher too. He always catched me and just let me have it. I finally learned his style of play and since 4/16/2003, he has not catched me and rushed me in elim like he once used to. - gerry
How do you remember exact dates like that? These days I'm too busy going back to my midshot/longshot and radar to spend too much time on rushing, but I bet I can catch you again if I see you in elim.Trench Wars' # 1 Solo WB

Nessy - Recruited me into Dependency and taught me the WB basics.

I do credit myself for persevering and developing my own hybrid style of dueling by taking the strengths of others and developing/cracking the best style; though my physical attributes hinder me at times.
Thanks to Lofty/Siriuis for the link, yeah, I don't have much time these days to frequent the forums, most of the time I get some idiot flaming or putting down whatever I write.
Lofty/Sirius taught me the importance of FAKES and knowing when to rush, and it is important to be aggressive when you duel. I still have below average rusher skills, but atleast I can rush; its not easy skill to develop.
Ripper and Ruby taught me about timing, when to fire and some other things as well.. confidence and concentration.
Mr. 420 taught me in my infancy about visual focus and concentration, plus elaborated more on rockshots and timing as well.
the grouch first taught me about rockshots back in july/2003, but I didn't understand how it all worked. Thanks to Mythrandir for explaining the game physics and what a rock bounce shot actual does.. increase bullet acceleration.
Plus good friends like influ, xayber, ripping time, lil critter, janipt, heavenking.. countless duel practice sessions in experimentation of the dueling arts.
No 1 style is the best, its all upto to the individual to know when which style should be used at a appropiate moment during a duel. Like what Lofty said , "A duel is like a dance, make this move and suffer/gain the consequences for your action."
Sirius, never give up on your rushing strength...btw
Yes, Lofty and Foreign taught me about psychology of the duel, I loved how they both explained it one day back around oct/2003 in a EG ZONE trenchwar arena while TW zone was down. I found their frustrating pubbing complaining most amusing, but they taught alot nethertheless, and I don't forget moments like this to hear elder duelers lecture to the unsuspecting ingrateful multitudes in pubs these days.
My style, no idea.. many styles at certain moments I guess, like acting out on certain actions.
The old non-rusher vs rusher style debate is silly, it all depends on the individual.
Lately, I found it interesting to build confidence in short range dodging. I find dodging a lot more fun then actual firing these days, to see what they will try to aim for, I find it comedic when they can lock and aiml loving to tease their crosshairs.
I just play to relax and experiment with moves, see what works and what doesn't. I strive for more kills : to least deaths ratio. I typical try to win an ELIM rather than get 20+ kills like some show offs. I enjoy wbduel or twdd the most, since team play add another dimension of strategy. Yes, forgot Ardour he taught me in some ways about twdd'ing, nice guy too.

Being the wb newbie that I am I learned how to play by going to elim. I noticed that this Raspi guy could basically win elim at will. So I looked at what he was doing and tried my best to copycat. Well, a few years later and I still am not close to having his aim/dodging/style and have developed my own patheticstyle like everyone else in this game. Any other ship I learned to play I learned either by myself or as a combination of learning with my bro.

Warbirding and javs I pretty much learned on my own, by watching everybody else play.
As with basing:
- Warportal: At the birth of private basing, he let me terr quite a lot of times. The Warportal vs Mythrandir matchup was pretty common back then. Also he showed me a couple of practice moves which I still use a lot. For example the extremely quick base entrance.
- Windreaper: I really haven't played that many games with him, but when I did he was quick to criticize but also very creative with ideas. He was the first to adjust his sharking style to my overly aggressive terring. That changed the way I played terrier drastically, because spiders and sharks would sit at the flag entrance along with me. There was no need to balance the line-defense anymore.

Windreaper
Miau
X Machine
Greven il Vec
Zyclon
Aim2Kill
Phrenitis
Herik
Eggs R Evil
Zerzera
Stabwound (showed me many things you should NOT do)
Wind , Miau and X Machine were the ones I followed most though
+ numerous guys for other ships than shark. I've probably forgotten a few names from there too but I spent the whole last season of TWL watching top sharks play and the hours after hours of TWD games too.Last edited by Jeansi; 08-04-2004, 12:50 PM.5: Da1andonly> !ban epinephrine
