  • Cannot load Continuum client - tried everything!

Hey everyone, as of yesterday the Continuum client has stopped loading. I've tried everything, uninstalling, reinstalling, updating Windows 10, run as administrator. Delete the program directory and do a fresh install with 0.40 from trenchwars.org. But no matter what I do, Continuum doesn't load. It doesn't even show up in taskmaster. I click the executable... and nothing happens. There's nothing in my antivirus suggesting it's blocked.

    Any ideas?

I have never heard of anyone unable to download and run the game on Windows 10, so this issue will be something specific to your PC.

Have a look for error messages in Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application

Try installing via Steam. The game is called "Subspace Continuum" there.

Failing that, my next suggestion would be a clean install of Windows.

If you value your mental health even a little bit, you will stay away from this game.

            Thanks Rab and Dwopple.

Finally found a fix after trying several for 'exe stopped working'... In a nutshell, this is what got it working again despite all the other suggested fixes:

Select the Data Execution Prevention tab, and click the Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only option. Then, click OK.

Thanks for the info, that'll help the next person with the same issue.

Here's the fix, in the case the link disappears. I have to do this every time windows updates.

                      Windows 10:

                      1. Windows Key - type "system"
                      2. Advanced System Settings (right side)
                      3. Advanced Tab
                      4. Performance Box - Settings
                      5. Data Execution Prevention tab
                      6. Select - "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only"
                      7. Reboot
