Still seeing a lot of complaints about pub spawning. (Although they may all be from someone with scores of aliases)
Still finding it annoying when a flag game is won or lost because of a vast difference in low-population spawning that no amount of ship-handling skill will overcome.
I am not seeing much (if any) increase in players wanting to Terr in pub to overcome the problem.
As a mainly Lanc player, I can zoom up to base fairly quickly so this doesn't kill the game for me, but not everyone wants to play a fast ship and speeding through an empty spawn area is not all that much fun.
I liked it when low populations would reliably spawn in or around midbase. (Although Levs with big bombs will need to spawn a long way lower to avoid ruining the flagging.)
Some players have said they want attachmode back but others have said, in the past, that they think it can ruin the game.
I would prefer to see attachmode (or some cheap, alternative means of reaching the FR quickly) for lower pop games.
In a 4 vs 4 your chances of finding a Terr for each team are pretty low. Most people prefer a ship with a different playstyle.
In a 10 vs 10 game, you ought to find either a willing base Terr or someone who can afford an expensive means of reaching the FR quickly.
Having a bunch of players on a private frequency should not change the spawn settings: we really need to encourage the flagging game as a priority.
Personally I am a traditionalist in that I would prefer to play with a base Terr - this gives more interesting tactical options and is closer to the basing game as played in ?go base, MMR basing (and probably leagues as well). Until we invent AI base Terrs this seems unlikely to happen at low populations though. Keeping the game alive is more important.
