Let's focus on a good year. There's a lot of things that players have simply become accustomed to being broken. Yes we're running on fumes in the dev department and yes we're running on fumes of older players without any new users coming in. We can do the best we can, however, to make this place fun for everyone that is still here. There's a lot of room for improvement and I've got a few tricks up my sleeve to bring in new players. First we have to make the current ecosystem as strong as possible to accommodate the players who are still around. Specifically pub and MMR, MMR being the driving factor of activity.

I'd agree up to a point. Actual new players, of whom I've brought a few in myself, can LITERALLY barely make it past the new profile login screen (endless stars because they didn't select all the check marks continuum wants you to), So you've already got problems right there. My buddy was getting that, and he said "what, it wants this and that, and it didn't even BOLD or asterisk anything? I already want to uninstall the game." And this guy isn't a 'tard dweeb, it's just the UNusability in and of itself causes roadblocks right away. OF course I realize, nobody is poised to fix the client itself, but that's just an observation.Originally posted by KrynetiX View PostI've got a few tricks up my sleeve to bring in new players. So you already have a disoriented and annoyed new user if they make it in. Then, if they can manage to figure out what the hell to do without an actual tutorial, cuz we all know how well newbs can read a setup/orientation webpage lol, they can get into pub. Then, since all the jav obsessed nerds won't ever play a round of pub until it's during their court mandated community pub service time, there's just a few literal schizos in there blabbing about fucking neurotoxins, nuclear fission, and politics lol.
Then, if they can manage to figure out how to switch an arena and go to the one with 24 people, they can get absolutely SHIT ON and then !blocked by a bunch of autists who can't deal with anyone else trying to play the game, and told to go back to pub lol.
I realize I'm being incredibly negative here,...it's not all bad. I just think that a lot has to change in order for us to ever truly get any new blood infused into this game. Not even really sure what could truly be successful outside of people literally meeting people and showcasing the game, and being *gasp* friendly and understanding, and welcoming.
I've suggested trying to get together and put Continuum in front of people at a retro gaming convention, but that costs money, time, and setup, and "nobody" seems to ever want to ACTUALLY band together and get something done IRL like competent adults.
I dunno man. Good things still, and I appreciate the effort. We aren't dead yet!
