In Pub 0 the other day I saw something that I hadn't ever seen before in pub( maybe I haven't been paying attention or this person was just skilled enough to catch my eye ) but I saw someone playing a spider in a very different way than I normally see. S/he were using slow and percise shots, instead of just spraying red bullets everywhere by holding down the fire button. They made the rapid fire aspect of the spider secondary, giving it an almost lancaster/warbird feel( maybe this is where they got the idea for the new lanc from? ). They took time to aim and made every shot count, I actually don't think they missed any shots at all out of 10 or so fired. They took down the enemy terr and two warbirds with ease with the slow and steady fire, while the other spiders had trouble taking down the second terr because it kept dodging their rapid spray.
So the question is, I guess, why don't more people, in pubs at least, no idea if you do this in leagues, play in this fashion when it seems to work far more effectively? Anyone on here play the slower spider version?

That's one of the main reasons some basing spids are good and some suck. Ppl think "everybody can spid in base" but you just mentioned the reason why not everyone is good at it. There are people emptying their energy without killing so they die from 1 spid bullet, and there are good spids, who use their energy wisely and kill with 2 shots and stay alive for a long while.
So this thread actually is kinda stupid. It's the same in asking "why are there no javs on the roof in TWBD or go base" ..
Pub is a place filled with silly newbs exploring their ships. So you don't learn anything but bad things in there (allthough pub can be fun.. this is not my way of saying pub sux)
That's it for me.7:Barton> hi tats

Well, yeah it is just pub, people do whatever they want there. But playing as spider in pub against wbs and terrs is the best way to practice spider with control shooting. Wbs recharge fast so u need to make every shot count and shot pretty fast. It also helps in multitasking, if ur outnumbered in pub, it is easier to defend urself and win if u were outnumbered in base. You can fire 1 shot at a few enemies just to make sure they don't have enuf energy to shoot u while u target another ship, plus many times (like say wbs) make the mistake of firing at u...and ur one shot at them would kill them and u can hope they miss...whcih they do quite often. Controlled firing is best to test out in pub...tests ur focus in multitasking and in gauging how much energy opponent has. aim is also greatly improved as sometimes u chase a wb that is constantly dodging. at some points i find myself chasing a wb for a good few minutes, hitting the wb enuf to prevent him having full energy but sometimes hard to finish the job...just gotta stay on top of him like in a small chess game.-L3
