My apologies Kim, I didn't mean for it to come across in a derogatory manner, but looking back on my post, I suppose it did. I just meant that you weren't around back when I was a ?go javs fiend. This was in 1999 when Louis XV and I would have races to 1000+ kills and what have you. It was also a time when not every ship had jav settings. Jav turrets were the shit. :>

It seems to me as though there's at least some consensus here. I think I'd be okay with a default freq size of up to 3 players, although I'd prefer each to their own freq. Either way, this is a single setting to change. Can we at least give it a go for a bit and see how it pans out?

What the HELL are you talking about? I was here when people on the CoT forums were trying to rid of the shrap in ?go javs (which wasn't removed then), and I was one of those people. Shrap gone in ?go javs was a good thing because it made things more strictly JAV, but limiting freq sizes has no progressive capability for a public arena. Sorry I didn't start in 1998, or even play a lot of ?go javs in 1999, but I don't need to have played ?go javs for 5 or 6 years to tell you what it's been about in the last COUPLE of years, that everyone has pretty much agreed with.

EDIT: and paul, don't take offence. We're talking about the die hard go javers, not the people who played from time to time. Each of the people listed above have had way over 4k kills in there before.

why not make private freqs the default in the arena. most people stay on the freq they are first put on

Before I read this I was thinking the same thing. This way the newbs will all be on seperate freqs and they wont know how to switch, and if they figure out how to switch they can make teams with eachother.
